Trauma, anxiety, depression and adjustment
Support for difficult experiences, ongoing distress and significant changes in life.
BioPsyche has a particular focus on workplace psychological harm, but work is only one part of life. I also work with adults experiencing trauma, anxiety and depression, adjustment difficulties, and significant life or health changes.
People seek therapy for many different reasons. Sometimes something difficult has happened; sometimes distress has built gradually; and sometimes life has changed in ways that are difficult to adjust to. There is no threshold of severity you need to reach first — difficulties that persist, or that have begun to shape how you spend your days, are a reasonable place to start. Therapy provides a space to understand what is happening and work towards meaningful change.
PTSD and complex trauma
Trauma can follow a single event, or build through something repeated or prolonged. I work with adults experiencing PTSD and complex trauma, including when it shows up as sleep that will not settle, memories that arrive uninvited, or a wariness that stays switched on long after the situation has passed. Therapy is tailored to your needs and may include trauma-focused approaches such as EMDR where appropriate.
Anxiety
Anxiety is often most visible in what it costs: the conversation rehearsed for hours beforehand, the invitation declined, the decision put off again. I work with persistent worry, avoidance and intrusive thoughts, and with anxiety that has started to narrow everyday life. Therapy focuses on understanding what is maintaining the anxiety and developing ways to respond differently.
Depression
Depression is not always low mood. For many people it is flatness — things that used to matter no longer registering, the day taking more effort than it should, contact with other people starting to feel like another demand. I work with adults experiencing persistent or recurring difficulties with mood, motivation, functioning and connection. Therapy is tailored to what is contributing to the depression and what you need to begin moving forward.
Adjustment difficulties
Significant changes and difficult events can take time to adjust to. I work with adults navigating changes in relationships, work, health, roles, loss and other life circumstances when the adjustment is causing ongoing distress or affecting everyday life.
Significant life and health transitions
I support adults adjusting to chronic illness, menopause, changes in health or capacity, and other significant life transitions. Therapy can provide space to make sense of what has changed and work through the psychological and practical impact.
Neurodivergence in daily life
I work with ADHD and autistic adults, and adults with other forms of neurodivergence, around the challenges that can arise in everyday life, relationships and work. This may include executive functioning, overwhelm, sensory or social demands, masking, burnout, self-understanding and adjustment following diagnosis. If you are looking for diagnostic clarity rather than support — including an adult ADHD diagnostic assessment — see Assessments.
Practical
Appointments are online, Australia-wide, by secure video or phone. Sessions can be private, Medicare-rebated with a GP referral and a Mental Health Treatment Plan, or funded through other arrangements. Current fees and rebates are on the Fees page.

You don’t need to know exactly what you need before you book. We can work that out together in your first appointment.
